Created by Takeuchi Naoko in 1992 as a
follow-up to her hit manga series Sailor V. It was first
published in the monthly Nakayoshi and had a huge fan-following
ever since. There are five TV series(with about 200
episodes) and three movies. The series was shown in the
Philippines by ABC-5.
The first series was about the search for the Ginzuishou
and the missing Moon Princess. The Inner Senshis(who are
all 14 year old schoolgirls dressed in short, cute
versions of their regular school uniforms) were
introduced together with Sailormoon. The fought the Dark
Kingdom's evil Queen Beryl(voiced by Han Keiko) and his
four generals. Their memories were erased after they
defeated Queen Beryl. The second series Sailormoon R,
they first faced the two aliens Ail and Ann(who feeds on
human energy) and then squared off with the evil Black
Moon Clan. Chibi-usa was introduced in this series, as
she came from the future to look for the Ginzuishou. The
third series intorduced the four Outer senshis and they
battled the transformed Sailor Saturn and the Death
Busters. With the assistance of the Holy Grail, Sailor
Moon turns into Super Sailormoon and defeats the villains
with the help of all the senshis.
