Aired by GMA 7, this exciting animé
by Nobuyuki Anzai is literally is "hot" series
with good plot, fighting scenes and great soundtracks
spread over 42 episodes of non stop ninja action.
This show
chronicles the life Reka Hanabishi, son of the last
flamesmaster of the Hokage Ninja Clan. After being
teleported by his mother to the future 400 years ago,
Reka's penchant for anything that has to do with ninjas
seemed like a normal hobby but one day Reka met a girl
named Yanagi (Anna) Sakoshita whom he saved from falling
pipes from a construction site, then from that day on
Reka called Yanagi "Hime"(princess) and
promised to protect her forever has her ninja. Things 
started to
get hot when he met Emma Kagehoushi, who "tested"
his skills by pitting Reka with his schoolmates Fuuko (Aira)
Kirisawa and Tokiya (Dylan) Mikagami. In the course of
these tests Emma shows Reka how to use his flame power
and tells them about the Hokage clan and tells them to be
strong because they will have to face a stronger foe.
Reka, who was not convinced about the existence of the
Hokage ninjas was verified by his teacher, Fumio Tatesako.
During this time, Reka's hime-- Yanagi was abducted by
members of Mori Kouran Uruha Death Squad who wanted her
because of her power to heal people.
With his hime's life in danger Reka lost no time to
rescue her. Together with his friends Fuuko and Domon (Max)
Ishijima, who used to fight Reka, they stormed Mori's
castle and fought the guardians of each level (They get
to befriend Ganko Murikawa, who joins them), Tokiya joins
them later in their fight with Kaoru Koganei. Then they
faced Kurei, who also verifies to them the existence of
the Hokage clan and tells them that he is Reka's half-brother.
They fought gallantly but eventually lost to Kurei's
powerful flame, Kurenai. Then Emma Kagehoushi comes to
aid them and tells Reka to remove his "tekkou"
or armband to release the true power of a flamemaster --
the KaRyuus (Fire Dragons) Saiha, Nadare, Madoka, Rui,
Homura, Koku, Setsuna, and Resshin. Reka beat Kurei who
told him and his friends to train themselves so they
could fight again.
After a
while, the group was invited by Emma in her house. There
they were told of the true story of the Hokage clan and
revealed that she is Kagero, Reka's true mother and told
them about the battle to get hold of the Hokage's "madougu"
or mystical weapons, Kagero decided to use Hokage
forbidden technique of Time-manipulation to send Reka
into the future hoping that Reka would have a peaceful
life. She would not have bothered Reka if not for Kurei
who followed Reka into the future. Reka could not accept
that fact. Then they were attacked by three stupid goons
with madougus, and when Kagero was threatened to be
killed Reka saved her and al last accepted her as his
mother.
After the
beating they got from Kurei, the gang started to train
themselves, with Reka trying to tame his flame dragons
and his friends Fuuko training with her madougu "Fuujin",
Domon with his madougu "Dosei no Wa". Then they
get an invitation from Kurei to join the Ura Butou
Satsujin, whose sole purpose is to collect all the
madougus for his father Mori Kouran.
The Hokage
team, as they were known, were forced to bet Yanagi's
life to enter the tournament proper. For their first bout
they met Team Ku--Dakoku, Minamio, Fujimaru, Saicho, and
Kukai, whom they easily defeated, Reka uses Nadare for
the first time in combat, they get to befriend members of
Team Ku after their bout. Then they get their first real
test began when they met Genjurou of Uruha Makuroshi.
Since two members of the Hokage team was "kidnapped",
they could have lost by default, but was saved by Kaoru (Lorkan)
Koganei. He joined the Hokage team to protect Yanagi from
Mori Kouran. He first defeated Genjurou's creation, a
werewolf-type of monster before falling a trap set up 
by his
former Uruha buddy Mokuren (Gideon), Mokuren uses the
madougu Kodama which controls plants from the user's
body, but it was amplified by Genjurou's psychic surgery.
Tokiya fought Mokuren and defeated him with his absolute
zero technique and saved Kaoru's life. Then Reka fought
Sakura (Nina) Menou, who was fighting against her will
because her father was trapped inside an hourglass, so
she has to defeat Reka in order to save her father. She
uses the madougu Shiki Gami, which she uses to control
her hair and to attack Reka with it. When Reka discovers
that she was fighting under duress, he decided to help
her and destroys Genjurou's madougu Muken, which can
shrink anyone to a small size. After Reka freed Sakura
Menou's father, she declined to fight him and Reka won.
Now it is Genjurou's turn. Reka was no match for him and
he was cornered and Genjurou's true plans were revealed
-- he wanted to get Reka's ryuus so he can be as powerful
as Kurei and defeat him. He performs his psychic surgery
and extracted a ryuu, unfortunately, he extracted what
Reka calls a psychotic ryuu, Setsuna, who retaliated
against Genjurou with his technique Shon-En. This ended
the match with Reka as the winner for Genjurou was badly
burned.
The next team
to fight the hokage was the all-girl, Uruha Oto, with
Neon (Naomi) as the leader and her sisters, Aki and Miki.
This time Domon (Max) Ishijima gets to fight after their
"abduction" (They were freed by Raiha for
unknown reasons). Aki with her madougu, Kotodama, which
cast illusions, nearly defeated Ishijima but he overcame
the illusions and destroyed Aki's Kotodama, this ended
the bout. Then came the tag-team bout, Neon and Miki
versus Reka and Tokiya. At first, Reka and Tokiya were
competing with each other and they were being drubbed by
Neon, who uses the madougu Fukyou Waon, which is a flute
in which its sound waves produces tremendous amounts of
damage, and by Miki who uses the madougu, Idaten, which
she wears on her boots to attain extraordinary speed and
the madougu, Yama Biko, which acts as a shield and a
reflector for Neon's sound wave attacks. Reka and Tokiya
realized that they were fighting for the same cause and
stopped competing with each other. They attacked together
and neutralized Miki. Then Neon uses her most
powerful technique "Requiem", but Tokiya
counters with his dancing icicles. When Neon was about to
fall to her death she was saved by Reka's dragon Madoka
using the Kikai- En technique. This ended the bout with
the Hokage team advancing to the semifinals.
In the
semifinals they meet the deadly Uruha Ma also called Uru
Uruha because they are the assassins within the clan of
assassins. Kaoru first fought with Tsukishiro, who was
armed with the madougu Kaigetsu, which was like a large
half-moon shaped blade. The match was pretty even until
Tsukishiro uses his other madougu, Oboro, a cloak which
blocks light and renders the wearer invisible. Kaoru got
a hard beating before he defeated Tsukishiro. Then it was
Reka's turn to fight. He was up against a sly ninja,
Kashamaru with the power to copy his flame dragons
courtesy of the madougu, Nisebi. Reka nearly lost until
the appearance of a new dragon, one that Kashamaru cannot
copy, the flame ryuu Rui, the Katanashi. With Rui's
illusion techniques Reka was barely able to beat
Kashamaru
. Then it was Fuuko's turn who was itching
to fight since her last bout was during the eliminations.
He faced the huge and heavily armored Gashakura, who was
armed with a large spiked ball and chain. Fuuko destroyed
Gashakura's weapon but he revealed his true power, the
"armor" he was wearing was actually the madougu
Magagumo, which can be worn as an armor or use its eight
deadly tentacles to attack the opponent. Fuuko
barely survives the attacks, because she is fighting from
outside the ring when she was tagged by lasers placed
within the ringside to prevent her from using the that
tactic. She was badly burned but was still determined to
fight. Gashakura who was very honorable destroyed the
post which was deploying the lasers and was also hurt in
the process. Now with both warriors badly hurt, they
continued to fight, and when Fuuko released her
Kasenokodama gem against Gashakura, she won the bout. Now
she faced the "immortal" Uru Uruha leader
Magensha and was placed in the world of nothingness, with
Magensha's madougu Houmashin. Magensha now faces
Ishijima, but was tasked by Mori Kouran to get Yanagi,
who was at the infirmary with Saicho to look after Kaoru.
Magensha split his life-force with the madougu Jigen
Kaigyoku and went to the infirmary. He easily disposes of
Saicho but Yanagi was able to run towards a cliff. It
seems that Magensha will get Yanagi if not for Reka who
quickly defended his hime. Magensha was beating Reka, but
Reka was trying out his flame ryuu combos. He succeeded
in damaging Magensha's Jigen Kaigyoku. During this time
Magensha's shadow was fighting with Ishijima and was
losing to him, but after he retreated from Reka he was
beating Ishijima to a pulp. When he used the Houmashin
against Ishijima it did not work. Also during this time
Fuuko, together with the exiled Uruhas Kashamaru and
Tsukishiro, who were in the world of nothingness, was
able to find the real Magensha and fought him in his
dimension. They succeeded in bringing the real Magensha
to the arena and survived the world of nothingness. Now
it was Ishijima's turn to beat Magensha to a pulp and
thus earned the bout for the team Hokage. Now they are in
the finals. They watched the semifinals between Kurei's
Uruha Kurenai and the the one-man team of Raiha. Raiha
conceded the match without fighting, and now the cast is
complete--- its the team Hokage of Reka Hanabishi and the
Uruha Kurenai led by Kurei who will fight in the finals
of the Ura Butou Satsujin !!!.
